Porhibited And Restricted Items

UPS Canada (Tanzania)

Additional Import Documentation
A Post-shipment Inspection has been introduced locally for a variety of imported commodities if the shipment value exceeds US$5000. A fee of 1.2% of the FOB value or minimum US$10 is levied on all shipments liable to Post-shipment Inspection. All shipments liable to post-shipment inspection require an IMPORT DECLARATION FORM that has to be provided by the importer.
Goods under IATA Special Provisions A67 require a MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet).

It is not required for all, however shipments can be held by local authority in United Arab Emirates after screening due to lack of MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) or NON DG (Dangerous Goods) declaration letter from the shipper resulting to misconnections and impacting end-to-end service.

It would be advisable for all shipments originating, transiting and terminating for UAE to have MSDS or NON DG declaration from shipper enclosed in the shipment and copies to be uploaded in IDIS.

A Packing List is required.

Information needed is a detailed list of all the items being shipped as per the commercial invoice.

All imports liable to Post-shipment Inspection (see also 'Additional Import Documentation') are declared on a Single Bill of Entry (SBE). SBEs are subject to verification by COTECNA (the inspection company) of the values declared. COTECNA may verify the values at the point of export before approving the SBE. Delays may occur
